A man of science and letters

Luca has been taking piano lessons and has been learning very quickly. Here is his first attempt at composition:
Ever since we went to a butterfly conservatory in key west we've been learning about butterflies. We have a card game with pictures that help us to identify about thirty different types. When this one landed on our lilac blossoms, Luca was able to correctly identify it as a tiger swallowtail:

New Tricks

No more training wheels for Luca! (And he's not even 5 yet.) We're so proud of him, and hopeful that his coordination may prove superior to that of both of his parents.



James is now our scooter kid, and he's catching on really quickly.


Here I am laying a new tile floor in the bathroom. This project started because of some water damage that happened when we had the big snow. I really like the way it turned out, but man my knees were sore after that.




My lilac in the rain. Only part of it bloomed this year, but last year we had nothing, so there is hope.
