Take me out to the Ballgame!

Aunt "Bebeck" gave Luca tickets to a minor league baseball game for his birthday. Last friday we went to see the Bowie Baysox play the Harrisburg Senators. After several seat changes (long story) we got to sit right behind home plate. It was fantastic. The whole thing was very family friendly. They had entertainment between each inning that kept the boys happy...things like dancing on the dugouts, and people wrestling in those "sumo" body suits. At the end of the game they had a great fireworks show and even let the kids run around the bases (although James was too little to participate, and wasn't a huge fan of the "fireworks make loud sound.") A man across the aisle from us, and not behind the protective net, caught a foul ball which he gave to the boys.
We all had a great time and it reminded me of going to Harrisburg Senators games with my dad when I was little.

A favor (maybe she wishes she hired a professional)

A friend asked me to make the top tier cake for her wedding cake. (She is serving cupcakes on a stand with space for a 9 inch cake on top.) I am no professional, and it has plenty of imperfections especially because I made the fondant and for some reason it wasn't cooperating. (The ribbon was a neccessary edition.) She wanted plain white which shows all the imperfections that I normally cover with decorations:) Anyway, my sister wanted to see the pic...so here it is!

Too many pictures

We spent memorial day weekend in New York at Jer's parent's house. I apologize for the deluge of photos, but I guess we just had too much fun. Here Luca relaxes on the porch hammock/swing.

The next series is from visiting our church's historical sites in Palmyra and Fayette New York. Jer and I lived in Seneca Falls as newlyweds, and our chapel was located right next to the Peter Whitmer farm. When I drive out to it through the middle of nowhere I like to think how similiar the area is to what it must have been back in the 1830's.
If you like the scruffy version of James, enjoy it here, because my boys all got buzz cuts yesterday.

I think I must have instinctually avoided being captured on camera when I was pregnant with Luca or James....for obvious reasons...my general puffiness. But then when I try to put together their baby books I have no pictures to prove what I endured to bring them into the world:) This time I'm making a conscious effort to hand over the camera and get in a photo or two.
Luca took the next one.

James: "Look at that big water!" x 100
He really loved Ithaca Falls.

Luca played table top croquet with his grandma and grandpa. Why the lack of shirt? Who knows. It was hot though. [Luca's edit: "I won!"]
We went to a fun playground near the falls which both boys loved.

I really like the bubble set Luca got for his birthday from our nextdoor neighbor. It makes really cool bubbles and even James could do it on his own.
Now a bit of a Eulogy:
This is the only Lily picture you'll see from us this year. Yesterday we arrived home to see our asiatic lillies with fat buds ready to split open. Some even showing a bit of the vibrant colors through the splits just to tempt us with what was to come. Some of the day lillies were already blooming, like this one and they had dozens of blossoms shooting up between the leaves. Alas...this morning we woke to see that the deer had eaten every single thing. Even the day lillies. They couldn't have eaten them in the beginning when the anticipation hadn't built up yet. No. They had to wait till we were so close and then deal their crushing blow. So cruel. I almost cried (okay...my hormones are going a little haywire...but Luca actually did cry) If only I had a shotgun...
