pics

Here are a few more pictures for the dear readers' viewing pleasure. Luca made a pinewood derby car this past month. Did he want to make one that was sleek and fast? No. As evidenced by the below picture, he wanted a beat up old baby blue pick-up truck. Luckily, Joanie had the patience to get it rolling smoothly. Next up is Luca with his Mom and baby brother. Then James with his aunt Emily who had a couple days off school when he was born and came down to see him within a couple hours of his birth. Lastly, we've got a pic of the little guy's old man hands to show you his long fingers before he gets fat (which, at his present rate of consuption will be pretty soon).

Here are a few more pictures.

Blog Pressure:)

Jeremiah told me it was my turn to post today. I'm told we must keep some regular activity on our blog or our family and friends will stop checking it. So, here are some photos. My family requests some representation on the blog, so I'll try to get everyone in at some point. Here is Luca with his Uncle Tom. Also there is a fairly recent picture from our baby shower for the new baby. We played a game with candy bars melted in diapers. Luca was VERY disturbed by watching his mom-mom taste the contents of a diaper.
Well, I tire easily under the pressure of being interesting. So that is all for today!

For those of you who enjoy a good read, check out my thesis from 2005:
http://www.graphics.cornell.edu/pubs/theses.html

It's not really that nerdy, especially in comparison to those of my fellows in the lab:
"Analytical centerline extraction and surface fitting using CT scans for aortic aneurysm repair",
"Polyhedral hull online compositing system" or my personal favorite,
"Theoretical framework and physical measurements of surface and subsurface light scattering from material surfaces"
Don't laugh, I'm sure the posessors of these massive brains are quite content in the knowlege that they can take over the world at a moment's notice with only a few keystrokes.

This blast from the recent past is the result of finding a harddrive from when I was in college. It was like opening a time capsule, and not in a bad way. I found pictures, a journal and even papers i had written. There were even a few long papers I can only describe as manifestos. Who writes papers when they are in college that are not required for any class? Luckily I didn't get to the point where I had the urge to post any of them online. It reminded me of those times when we'd sit around on the couch at 934 stewart eating pilfered meat and arguing until 4 in the morning about how we were going to restructure society once our generation took over.

New House

Many of our friends and family have heard about our new house and all the work we have done, yet many have not been able to visit. We, with the help of family and friends, laid the hardwood floors on 2 levels of the house in 2 very long saturdays. Joanie did nearly all the painting (it used to be bright yellow, teal, and olive green). Jeremiah with significant help from his dad did all the trim. We had new countertops installed, and Jer installed a new dishwasher. It has been all very educational and fun for us, although also scary to close on a house and the very next day go in and knock out a few walls.
Luca would like to type some words he knows:
