Washington DC

We met Mom-mom for a day at the Smithsonian. I love that place. There are so many inspiring things to see. A visit there makes me feel so grateful to be an American.
This was at the museum of Natural History. It is temporary exhibit about the coral reefs. Thousands of people contributed knit pieces to make this "coral reef". It was really cool.

This is Abraham Lincoln's top hat. It sat on the floor beside him at Ford's theatre the night he was assassinated.

Martha Washington's gown

Here the boys learn how to break the shell off of rice.

I loved this doll house when I was a girl. I would have stood there for hours imagining it
was my own. I always thought it was kind of sad that no one could actually play with it. But, of course if kids could it would never survive a day.

This is just one of the rooms. I love the detail. Look at the bowls stacked on the bottom shelf.

Here's Libby in a vintage Miceli girl's dress.

Here I am in my birthday boots. I'd been wanting a pair for awhile and finally got them.
